Frites

Frites
Moules Hoegaarden

We were so glad to find this lovely Belgium joint! We haven't had Belgium mussels for more than 3 years!!! Back in Singapore, we had them so often at Oosters and we usually asked for Moules Mariniere (mussels in white wine, fresh herbs and garlic). I seemed to talk about our lives in Singapore a lot but trust me, I do not miss Singapore all that much. In fact, I do not miss Singapore at all. Once in a blue moon, I might miss the food a bit and that's about it.

Instead of sticking to what we were used to (Moules Mariniere that is), we decided to give Moules Hoegaarden a go. And we were glad we did! It tasted awesome. The broth (hoegaarden, coriander, celery and fennel) subtly flavours the succulent & plump mussels, the way we like it.

The mussels are served in 1/2 kg serving and 1 kg serving. Since it was our in-between meals, we ordered the 1/2 kg serving. And all mussels are served with frites and mayonnaise! YUMMMM!!! Love these frites!! Crispy on the outside and fluffy inside, and they taste so good with the mayonnaise.

And of course, we washed down the delicious mussels with some Belgium beers.

What a great Sunday afternoon :D

We will be back for more mussels soon and to try out more items on their menu ;)
